FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Hoarding is a behavioral pattern characterized by the excessive acquisition of and inability to discard large quantities of objects that cover the living areas of a home and cause significant distress or impairment.

Compulsive hoarding behavior has been associated with health risks, economic burdens, and adverse effects on personal relationships. When clinically significant enough to impair functioning, hoarding can prevent typical uses of space so as to limit basic daily activities like moving through the home, eating, and sleeping. It can also put people at risk due to increased risks of injury, fire, and disease.

Bio-One of Marion County prioritize concern for the well being of our customers and their families, always following our slogan, “Help First, Business Second.” Bio-One of Marion County soundly reject the business-first mindset of other companies who see people and their families asking for help as vulnerable and exploit the economic opportunity. Our primary goal is to help people improve their lives and begin the process of moving forward.

Bio-One of Marion County sets itself apart from other hoarding cleanup companies in four distinct ways:

Bio-One of Marion County come to give on-site estimates, never blind, inflated estimates over the phone. This allows us to give an accurate estimate and scope of work.

Bio-One of Marion County do not give bait & switch quotes. Unlike other companies that lowball their estimates and then ratchet the price up as the job progresses, our experience and expertise allows us to give accurate estimates that reflect what the job will cost.

Bio-One of Marion County are truly a local company, the owners and employees all call the Marion County area home, too. Other companies take your call from outside our community, and then subcontract your job out to some workers who are neither hoarding specialists nor trained professionals. Many times the contracting company does not even know the subs they have hired.

Bio-One of Marion County respond to a hoarding cleanup request immediately because we are locally based. We're not heading into the area, we're already here.

Bio-One of Marion County goes to great lengths to ensure your privacy and our discretion. For starters, we use unmarked vehicles and we don’t suit up outside whenever possible. We’re also good at gently, but firmly, shooing away nosy neighbors and we don’t answer their probing questions.

Yes. Bio-One of Marion County offers a regularly-scheduled maintenance program where Bio-One of Marion County return to the residence or property after the initial cleanup and perform follow up services to ensure that it remains in the state it was when we completed the job.

Yes. While the original hoarding cleanup will result in the removal of all necessary/requested items, the hoarding residence will still be in need of a thorough and detailed cleaning, due to the effects caused by the original hoarding situation. Bio-One of Marion County offers a detailed cleaning program to anyone who's interested.
